Hooray! The January 2014 Whitney English Day Designers have arrived in the shop. We are pleased as punch to be one of the few retailers that get to carry these gems because we love the thought and care Whitney put into designing this lifesaving planner. Don’t let the attractive glossy, striped cover fool you. While it is beautiful enough to set on your coffee table, this planner is chocked full of a year of daily and monthly pages as well as a handful of thought provoking pages for goal setting. This planner is a work horse that will keep you on track short term and long term.

Just one of the many planning and and goal pages

We have had such great response from our customers who are already using the Day Designer. Here are some of the things they love:

– A daily page that starts at 5 am and runs through 9 pm

– A space for daily gratitude

– Inspirational quotes

– Opens flat and is extremely durable

– Planning pages are full of valuable information that help you realize your goals and values

WARNING:  What’s new on Wednesday could possibly be gone on Thursday because the Day Designers sell out almost as soon as we get them in. If this looks like it could be your 2014 lifesaver, we suggest you stop in sooner than later.

Fun Fact Friday is all about our shop dog Gibson. He’s been missing the past few months enjoying lazy days outside, but with the colder weather now here, Gibson is back to work for the holiday season. So make your list and come see Gibb, and us, for some nifty gifties.

Name: Gibson

Age: unknown

Gender: male

Breed: mix

Weight: 88 pounds

Owner: Sami Kropp

Occupation: shop dog

Exercise: chasing squirrels and long walks to Starbucks for favorite food (see below)

Relaxation: chilling on the couch watching Duck Dynasty and Animal Planet

Favorite food: Starbuck’s sausage sandwiches

Drool worthy: babies and kids

What’s new around here is me trying to take better care of myself. Sleep more, stress less and stretch often (mind and body). I love charting my daily progress in this little yellow book that we just got in at the shop. While I’ve always wanted to be a journal keeper, I seem to go thoughtless at the sight of a blank sheet of paper. The beauty of the one line a day journal is just that…it’s one line a day. So now, I’m healthier and a journaler.  Such progress.

New books, new glasses and a new me.  I’m feeling good about what’s new at the shop and in my life on this Wednesday.

Knock, knock.

Who’s there?

Witch who?

Witch card do you like?

Comment on your favorite card and be entered in our monthly drawing for a goodie bag of greeting cards. No tricks with this contest…just treats.

What’s new this Wednesday is one of our all-time favorites…

Being the warm weather girl that I am, it is extremely painful for me to say goodbye to summer. The one good thing though about the season change is the delivery of our pumpkin candles from Linnea’s Lights. Pumpkin is this shop girl’s very favorite of the special edition scents that are only available at this time of year. Here today but most likely gone tomorrow because I’m not the only ones that rejoices (and I do mean rejoice) when these hit the shop.

So with my candle lit, my journal in hand and a warm cup of coffee by my side, I’m ready to tackle fall.

I may need reinforcements for winter.

Given that I’m in Connecticut today watching my daughter, Eloise, perform in the “Most Happy Fella” at Goodspeed Opera House, I had to post some happy day cards for snail mail Saturday. While both of these cards are absolute winners, let us know your favorite so you can be entered in our monthly drawing for a grab bag of fun cards. We choose our winner, on the last day of the month so be sure to enter each Saturday.  The more you play, the better your odds.

Think happy. Be happy. Send happy.

Tape, tape and more tape.  Bright, pastels and neon colors. Wide, skinny and super skinny.  We’re stuck on tape at chirps & cheers.

And that’s a fact…for Friday.
