this little piggy went to the market

The only shop I am in more than my own (and sometimes I think more than my own!) is the grocery store. There is always something that we seem to need. I learned a long time ago though that it was futile to walk through the doors without a list. No matter how badly we needed something if it wasn’t written down, there was no chance that it would make it to the cart. Of course being the paper lover that I am even the grocery list needs to be something fun. Who wouldn’t want to make and take their list on one of these little treasures. Keep either one of these on your counter and everyone will know exactly where to leave their order. Just remember to stick it in your purse and you’re good to go.

stamp encore

How could I not follow up Monday’s post about rubberstamps without showing these cuties from Yellow Owl Workshop that just arrived in the shop.  Each little pouch is filled with two stamps of adorable illustrations: badmitton racquets and a birdie, a NYC building and yellow cab, teapots and a birdcage and bird. I was literally selling these sets as I unpacked them.  Hard to resist something so charming.

must-have monday

These new stamps from Paperwink are my must-have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I am completely and utterly in love with these old-school, wooden-handled goodies. It wasn’t easy choosing from the baker’s dozen of fun designs so I solved that pickle of a problem by ordering more than one. I can’t wait to add to my collection. They make great gifts too as the packaging is A+.

So cute with these letterpress cards from Paper + Cup.

I ordered one with just my name to use for quick notes, gift tags, labels, etc.

pretty papers

Have to giddy-up on home to let the pups out, but I wanted to quickly post these adorable papers from Hello Lucky. I am feeling oh so inspired to get out the sponge brush and mod podge and start decoupaging one of my Russell + Hazel binders. And I do have a great old frame that I’ve been looking to fill. Hmmmm. So many possibilities to ponder while walking the pooches.

show and tell

The best part of being a shopgirl is the people I meet. I can’t tell you how many sweet folks have walked through my door. Visiting with everyone is truly the highlight of my day. Today I got to chatting with the lovely Julia about how much she likes her Russell + Hazel mini smart-date planner. As soon as she pulled it out, I flipped and had to take pictures. It truly looks like someone created it for a movie set. Ribbon-tied binder clips hold papers, slip sheets are filled with cute hand-made dividers, colored pens are used to mark dates for each family member and chicklet post-it notes in the same colors are available for making quick notes.  It was fun to see how she has taken all the RH products and made them work for her artistically and funtionally.

I am all about show and tell.  Thanks Julia!

one day at a time

Time is a strange thing.  It can either fly by way too quickly or it can drag on endlessly. We spend time, waste time, and give time but we haven’t figured a way to buy time. Yes, we can hire people to help us be more efficient with our time or help us save time but the amount of time in each day is unchangeable. Twenty four hours, 1440 minutes or 86,400 seconds. Nothing more. Nothing less. That’s why I love this three desk pad set from Russell + Hazel. Perfect for grads, but who doesn’t need that reminder to just take it one day at a time?

wait, is monday over?

The must have for today is definitely more minutes in the day. Sometimes 1440 of them just doesn’t seem like enough.

it’s in the bag

A tisket, a tasket, here’s something going in my Easter baskets….one of my favorite recyclable totes from Envirosax. It is hard to choose from all the fun patterns and colors: cartoony, brights, earthy “anthropologie”, solids, graphics and sleek-chic. These are so handy as they fold-up to almost nothing. Stick one in your purse, a diaper bag, a bike basket or keep a few in your car for just the moment when you need an extra sack. Don’t worry, I have my fair share and with each new use you share with me I will add another to my collection.

Just call me the colorful, fashionable and environmentally-friendly bag lady.

up for a challenge?

Given that April is National Card and Letter Writing Month, my motto for the next thirty days is “write, seal, stamp and send”. While it is no surprise that I am a big snail mail lover, I am taking a thirty day challenge to send something, other than bills, everyday. If you are so inclined, please take the challenge with me. It won’t make you lose any weight, stop smoking, clear your arteries or lower your cholesterol, but it will probably make the day of the people to whom you care enough to send something. Let us know how it goes. The author of our favorite letter writing story will receive a box of beautiful notes. Based on the tone of the tale, we will choose something from our shop collection that we find fitting.

Ready, set, write.

My first day post …. from elum.
